We have received the report that the farmers in the Maseno Project have had a very good harvest from the long rain season which came to an end recently. What an amazing blessing from God that we can all give thanks for. The picture above shows harvested maize cobs being dried. In a time when there is a great shortage of food in Kenya, God has proved to us again that He blesses our harvest when we turn to Him and trust in His ways. Many farmers have given tithes from their harvest, and it is our hope that many more will be moved to give, as we have good proof now that when we give we are blessed and God is honoured. The tithes from farmers are used in three ways, to help local Parishes (especially to help orphans and widows), to bless the work of the Maseno Diocese, and to re-invest into the Maseno Project.
Preparation and planting for the short rain season has gone well, and the farmers are now top dressing their crops with fertiliser. Recently it has been reported that it has been raining in the Maseno district often every other day! The plants are looking good, and the farmers will harvest about January time.
