The Short rains harvest is complete for the 2011/2012 season. The farmers have been faithful with their seed and fertiliser, and have done a marvelous job at cultivating and harvesting their crops. However, despite their good work, many project farmers have had relatively low yields, due to crop damage from storms during the growing season. But we are still thankful to God, as the Project farmers have yielded well in comparison to the surrounding community because they continue to implement the farming practices learnt through the Project. As food shortages continue to be a big challenge for Eastern Africa, the farmers of the Maseno Project will increasingly be a source of light and encouragement to those around them.
